Ramiro is one of the foundation sires with a world wide reputation. One of his best sport horse off spring was Ratina Z who competed twice at the Olympic Games by Ludgar Beerbaum and Piet Raymakers. Stallions sons of Ramiro are Rasso, Romino B, Ronald, Rollando, Ritual B, Ramiro Son, Rebot, Rebel Z 1,2,3. He was conceived in Holstein, born in Westfalia, licensed in Neumunster, and was an international Showjumper under Fritz Ligges. Ramiro himself was tremendously successful at Showjumping, with many wins in Nations Cups, Puissance and international Grand Prix competition. Ramiro influences nearly all European performance studbooks. It is impossible to underestimate Ramiro's influence on Dutch Warmblood breeding, or to catalog the success of his many, many outstanding offspring.

Abgar:
Breed Award Keur,
1993: KWPN Showjumping Score 131 88%
1988: KWPN Showjumping Score 149 84%
Imported from France the grey Thoroughbred stallion was not initially very popular in Holland. He had been imported to Holland by Mr Burgers, a Thoroughbred and Shetland Pony breeder. His bloodlines are the classic Showjumping recipe Owen Tudor, Son-In-Law and on his dam’s side to Le Sancy xx who is also influential in the Ramzes family. Abgar arrived as a 5 year old Racehorse, and had one winning start before being sent to stud. In his first four years at stud, Abgar hardly covered any Warmblood mares. He moved to Brabant where he was slightly more popular, covering about 40 mares a season. In 1976, he moved to the more high profile, Roelofs Stables in Den Ham. There covering only Warmblood mares, he became one half of the dynamic breeding duo of Abgar x Joost, or Joost x Abgar, the cross that made the name Roelofs famous. tThey inherited their sire’s character that made them so sought after. He soon had national level showjumpers - Itturidu, Sapristie - and international representatives, Jabgar, Humphrey, Olympic Treffer and Valeur D.
Abgar died in 1984 at the age of 26.

Ramzes:
Ramzes was imported to Germany in 1948 by Clemens Freiherr von Nagel, who initially gave the stallion to German Showjumping rider, Hans-Heinrich Brinkmann as a competition horse. Ramzes stood at the Holstein Verband in 1951and 1952 to refine the heavy Warmblood mares of the area. Ramzes was an immediate success as a sire. His Showjumping offspring Retina, ridden by Fritz Thiedemann, Romanus with Hans Günther Winkler and Ramona with Alwin Schockemöhle established Ramzes' fame in Holstein, and resulted in him standing there for two more seasons, in 1959 and 1960. While in Holstein, Ramzes bred showjumpers, in Westfalia, he produced Dressage horses. The Ramzes son, Remus won individual Dressage silver and team gold at the Tokyo Olympics, where he was ridden by Harry Boldt. Two years later, another son, Mariano (ridden by Josef Neckermann) won the World Dressage Championship, with Remus collecting another silver medal. Mariano won silver at the 1968 Games - and four years later, at the Munich Games, another son, Robin was a member of the German gold medal winning showjumping team. The Ramzes son, Radetzky established in Westfalia a line that led to Romadour II and in turn to his gold medal winning son, Rembrandt. In Holstein, Ramzes produced five licensed sons, including Raimond and Rigoletto. Rigoletto was sold to The Netherlands where he was an enormously successful sire of Showjumpers. Raimond was the sire of Ramiro, arguably the most successful Showjumping sire of them all. Ramzes was a medium framed, harmonious stallion with a very well set on neck, which was heavily muscled on the underside. He had a heavy poll, good width and depth of body and clean legs which were very good behind and light boned in front. Ramzes had a positive effect on the old Holsteiner type. He sired a huge number of beautiful, supple riding horses. He decisively improved on the old, tremendous but high headed, flat backed jumping form. The marvelously positive results were doubtless due to the large percentage of Thoroughbred blood carried by Ramzes himself. Ramzes influence in Holstein seems to have achieved its greatest importance with the whole list of first class approved broodmares which carry his blood. On his dam's side, Ramzes carried a great deal of Amurath blood.

Cottage Son:

Breed Award Premium. In Cottage Son, they found a sire whose influence on the modern day Showjumper is second to none. His great grandson, Capitol alone would secure his place in breeding history, Interestingly, Cottage Son fulfilled none of the usual German qualifications required of a Thoroughbred sire - he had neither raced successfully or competed in the sport, but had been a successful sire of Hunters and Eeventers in his native England, before being imported to Germany at the age of 15. In England he was the sire of Cottage Romance, ridden in the British Olympic team, in 1960 by Michael Bullen, and several other elite eventers: Dapper was 5th at Badminton with Lt Colonel Frank Weldon, and Anzac was 7th in 1962 at Little Badminton. He was however royally bred to be a sire of jumping horses - descending on his sire line from the great Bay Ronald. On the dam's sire we find the great steeplechase sire, Cottage. Cottage's offspring dominated English and Irish steeplechasing for two decades, during which time he produced three Grand National winners. His great grand-dam, Clonken is by Red Prince II, another successful steeplechaser and producer of steeplechasers. Red Prince II later stood in Trakehnen where he sired 24 approved stallions and 30 approved broodmares. Red Prince II was out of the Grand National winner, Empress. A fatal accident in 1963 meant Cottage Son spent a mere four seasons at stud in Schleswig-Holstein, but in that time he managed to produce 14 stallion sons, and 42 approved daughters. He also produced the jumpers, Carlos, Colibri, Colorado, Conte, Cocacabana, Corsar, Cortina, Cottan, Cottage Incident and Georgie Girl; the dressage competitors, Cohinor and Coriolan, and the eventers, Arrarat and Comtur. As a broodmare sire, Cottage Son has been a sensation, siring the dams of two of the all time greats of modern jumping breeding, Lord and Ramiro. Cottage Son was a tall powerful stallion with long lines, a great deal of expression with a very good honest temperament.

Amor:

Breed Award Preferent Important Dressage and Showjumping Stallion. Amor is a Gelderlander stallion, imported from Holstein at the age of 3. Since he lived from1959 to1990 he produced many offspring who performed well in dressage, jumping and driving. The influence of Amor can still be seen in Dutch performance horses. Amor came to the Netherlands at the time that the breeding of riding horses had just about begun to develop and he was still there when Dutch sport horses had become famous all over the world. Amor's qualities were such that he not only had a modernising effect when the emphasis in the Netherlands was still on the agricultural side of breeding, but his valuable characteristics also proved useful when the trend had swayed towards the production of sport horses. Yet Amor has not become famous for producing top-class sport horses himself. Amor passed on the kind of qualities that are essential for sporthorses: movement, eagerness, temperament, sound bones, well-shaped neck, etc. Amor off-spring do not have the old-fashioned musclar front but carry their weight on the rear, propelling, as it were, their powerful personality. That is exaclty how you recognise his descendants, particularly when they are the typical light bays with dark manes, tail and lower legs. And they sure got a mind of their own, these Amors. No doubt, that's why there are not many of them who met the kind of rider to bring out their great qaulities at top level. Some of Amor's more successful progeny are Opal, a dressage horse with Christine Stückelberger, the showjumper, Surprise who won the World Cup Qualifier of Amsterdam with Rob Ehrens - while Warrent was an interational jumper with Chris Keppler and Aristo competed with Margie Goldstein - other talented sons include Gondelier, Akteur, Vindicator and Zandingo. Another son, Eros, was important as a sire of dressage horses. As a competitor Animo was a star, and his star shone most brightly at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, where he was ridden by Morten Aasen. Animo has been an excellent sire of sires. His international showjumping progeny include Gina Lolobrigida with Franke Sloothaak, Bodyguard and Phillip le Jeune, Aniapollo and Norman del Joio, Mystery Lady with Katina Lampe, Allegiance and Laurua Kraut, Colorado and Harry Smolders, Billy Orange and Roelof Bril.

Champion foal, Reserve Champion 1982, State premium & Elite Stallion. Kolibri belongs to the best producers of jumping horses ever in Germany. In comparison to the genetic quality of the mares he covered in his life time he has the same level as for example - Gotthard, Pilot, Grannus, (top producers of jumping horse) Lord of Landgraf. Kolibri won the 1992 stallion performance test in Neustadt/Dosse where he received outstanding ratings in all parts of the index. Kolibri's breeding popularity meanwhile reaches far beyond the boundaries of his area of operation in Saxony-Anhalt. He boasts sixteen approved sons and in excess of 60 state premium mares to date. He presented the champion stallion of the joint approval of the Saxony-Anhalt and Berlin-Brandenburg Horse Breeder's Associations in Neustadt/Dosse and Salzwedel in both 1993 and 1994. He belongs to the cream of contemporary procreators of show jumpers, according to the FN breeding value rating. His best money spinners on the show jumping course were, Kranich, the approved stallion Kai. Kandidat, Kobold and Folklore. Many Kolibri progeny are owned by top riders. The former Neustadt state stallion Korsar, was ridden by Nelson Pessoa, where as Holger Wulschner saddled Komtesse 32, Christian Ahlmann rode Kleopatra 23, Helena Weinberg rode the Oldenburg mare Kassiopaja, Nathalie Destree-Kradepohl rode the Hanoverian mare Kiruna and Frank Martin rode the Brandenburg horse Konto respectively, with great success. The Italian rider Lorenz Toscano did well at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, with the Kolibri offspring Katango. Kolibri has meanwhile been declared a state premium stallion on the basis of his outstanding procreative performance. The breeders of the champion stallions of the Neustadt approvals each receive a bronze Kolibri statuette as a challenge trophy. His progeny have now earned more than 1.3 million Euros.
