Alme:

Competition Level Showjumping International.
One of the most infuential Stallions. Almé at the age of five, showed great potential, ridden by Bernard Geneste. After his first season at stud, he was sold to the American Fred Lorimer Graham, who competed him for the next two years. Almé competed Internationally with François Mathy and Johan Heins at a time when it was unusual for a stallion to both compete and stand at stud. Almé stood four seasons in France producing exceptional sons - Grand d’Escla, Galoubet, Jalisco B and I Love You - before he was snared by Léon Melchior and moved to his Zangersheide stud in Belgium. There, Almé was to found a dynasty. Stallions such as Alexis Z, Ahorn Z and Athlet Z have spread Almé’s influence throughout Europe, and into almost all the German studbooks.

Furioso:
Born in England in 1939, the Thoroughbred colt, Furioso was to become one of the most influential sires in modern performance horse breeding, He was as well balanced stallion.
The authoritative De L’etalon Sport Français of 1992, remarked: ‘he had good bone, and walked liked a Lord, with a magnificent pace, very energetic and showing a great deal of amplitude, his tail swinging at each step. His trot and gallop were good. Though full of life he was docile and had a good temperament.’ Furioso, was the leading sire of winners in France from 1954-1961. His son, Lutteur B, who went on to win the 1964 Olympic individual gold for Showjumping, amazed the German breeders when he appeared at the Hamburg Derby. Maas Hell, in Die Grossen Hengste Holsteins records the reaction. The Germans rushed to get their share of Furioso blood. Perhaps the most influential was Furioso 11 who died in 1986 having sired 81 approved sons, 96 dams of approved sons, and progeny earnings of DM 9,000,000.
Ibrahim:

Sport Horse Cheif. Ibrahim was purchased for 500 francs by the horse dealer Alfred Lefevre at a local show, from the horse's breeder, René Haize. In 1956, the young horse was champion of his age group, and was sold to the State Stud. He bred at the stud from 1956 to 1973, and was the most famous horse there in the 60's and 70's. In 1957, he produced the mare Norvale. She produced several foals, before competing internationally with Jean-Michael Gaud. Ibrahim's other progeny also began showing up at the International level: horses such as Petit Prince C and Quo Vadie. However, it was not until Tango C, a talented Showjumper, began his competition career, that bookings to Ibrahim took off. From only a few bookings in 1966, he began by averaging 25 mares a year, before booking a record 54 mares 1969. Ibrahim's progeny were exceptional at Fontainebleau in 1970, with Alcazar D, Aurore C, Azimut, Arteban and Alme Z overshadowing all others in the jumping finals, and the five year old mare Val de Loire B winning the jumping class for her age group. A popular breeding cross was with Ibrahim to daughters of Ultimate, a Thoroughbred. This produced some of the greatest offspring, including Alme Z. Ibrahim still has a great influence, with 15 of 20 stallions who had produced 3 or more horses at the six year old finals at Fontainebleau having Ibrahim in their pedigree. Ibrahim has sire many Olympic Medal winners. Precipitation:

Rissalix was known for his quality and brilliant action, a better cross for the Hanstead mares could not be found. Rissalix sired fewer than 20 Yule-bred foals of record, but they include such as *Count Dorsaz, Blue Domino, Mikeno, and Pale Shadow (dam of Bright Shadow). Rissalix was one of the few horses Lady Wentworth later regretted selling, but owing to labor shortages after the start of the war it was necessary to reduce the number of stallions at Crabbet. 100% Crabbet.
AHRA, AHSB vol XI Died 1979 Bred by Babson, USA. Imp. UK in 1969. First Babson Arabian to be exported (in 1968).Supreme Male Champion 1978 & 1978 Champion at Salon Du Cheval in Paris (World Champion stallion!!!). Updated Mar 2008 - He was bred by the Hedleys close friends the Streams in California and was the first Straight Babson to come to the UK - and he travelled by sea. His son IBN EL NAFIS was one of my favourites. At his only show in the UK he was BNCh. He then went to Paris but sadly on his return he was lost to colic. He was very different looking to the UK Arabians at the time as well as being an unusal brown colour (when many in UK were bright chestnut with lots of white).
